In 2006 while competition at an athletics
event in Durban, the King's School school bus was stolen. Since then
the school has had to rely on parents and teachers for the
transportation of learners to sporting and cultural events, on
outing and tour. An immediate need at the school is thus to replace
the school bus. We have an amount paid out by our insurance company,
however, the amount paid out is never equal to the personal value of
the product. Because of this there is a shortfall between what we
have in the bank, and the amount needed in order to replace our bus.
Because of this, the majority of funds raised
at the Golf Day 2007 will go towards the purchase of a new school
bus.
Our aim is to raise R50,000.00 at the
golf day this year, which should be enough to cover the outstanding
amount needed in order to purchase a new school bus.
In addition to the school bus, part of the fund
raising will go towards social development and community upliftment.
